St. Joseph Club
SAINT JOSEPH CLUB
vocation discernment for high school men
After 2 years of covid downtime, St. Joseph Club is RE-LAUNCHED!
Our first event was Wednesday, May 18th, 7:00 - 8:30 at the St. Rose of Lima Formation Center.
Stay tuned for more event announcements over the summer!
Who Should Join?
The club is open to high school men who are daring enough to take a serious look at God's will for their lives. You will grow personally, emotionally, and spiritually. Each member must be open to considering Roman Catholic priesthood as an option for his life's vocation. You may attend either a Public, Private, or Catholic high school. God calls men from all three places! Homeschool teens also welcome!
Where Is It, Again?
Summer events are held out on the town - location to be announced. During the school year, the club meets in the Formation House at St. Rose of Lima Parish, 500 Parker Avenue, Buffalo 14216. The Formation House is the former convent (now used for deacon training). Enter on the Winston Road side of the property, and ring the bell at 217 Winston Road.
BTW: Fr. Dave went to his first discernment meeting in this building, way back in 1998
Why "St. Joseph" Club?
Saint Joseph is the patron saint of our Diocese of Buffalo. As the husband of Mary and earthly father of Jesus, he's the model for being able to hear, understand, and follow God's call in life. All through the Gospel, St. Joseph is "in tune" with God's messages offering direction through the angels. Check it out...
St. Joseph, intercede for us to know and follow God's call in our own lives.
What Does the Club Do?
There's special activities over the summer, and three regular meetings during the school year.
The regular meetings always involve the three Ps:
PIZZA
PRAYER
PARLEY - a dialogue about what God is calling us to do in life.
It's helpful if you call to let me know you're coming, just so we have enough pizza!

Prayer for Vocations
Creator God, life is Your gift to me.
Through Baptism,
You invite me to share the gift of my life in service to others.
Be with me as I choose each day to show
Your Presence in our world.
Give me the courage and generosity to respond to
Your love, to Your call.
I pray especially for those who serve You as
Priests, brothers, sisters, deacons and lay ministers.
Keep them close to You.
Open the minds and hearts of many other men and women
that they accept Your challenge to build Kingdom.
Prayer by Roseann Kasayka, OSF
Blessed are you who believed
that what was spoken to you
by the Lord would be fulfilled (Luke 1:45)
